The Brazilian star Issues Apology to Real Madrid Devotees
The attacker has netted five strikes in 10 domestic competition appearances this season.
Los Merengues winger Vinicius Jr has apologised to the fanbase for his response when substituted in the recent heated Clasico clash victory.
Vinicius was substituted in the 72nd minute and displayed his frustration by walking immediately to the dressing room.
Vinicius later returned to the dugout and, after his team's 2-1 win, attempted to approach the opposition's Lamine Yamal during contentious post-match scenes.
"Today I want to apologise to all the Real Madrid fans for my reaction when I was replaced in the derby," he shared on social media.
"Similarly to I have previously expressed during this morning's practice, I wish to express regret anew to my colleagues, the club, and the president.
"Occasionally fervor overcomes me because I constantly desire to succeed and support my club. My competitive character originates in the love I hold for this club and all it represents."
Vinicius joined Real from his former club in recent years for £38.7m and has notched triple figures in more than 300 games.
But his prospects in the Spanish capital is far from certain with reports in lately indicating that Los Blancos would think about letting the player move on if they got a suitable offer.
When the winger was replaced on Sunday, broadcast footage from coverage provider Dazn captured him saying: "Again me! I'm departing the side! It's better if I depart, I'm moving on."
In his most recent statement on X, the athlete said: "I commit to keep battling at all times for the benefit of the club, as I have acted since the very beginning."
